Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Recognizes Primekss CEO Janis Oslejs with the 2026 Construction Industry Sustainability Award for Environmental Impact to reduce carbon emissions, resource consumption, and promote sustainable practices.
By engineering concrete to do more with less, PrīmX® concrete technology enables performance-critical facilities to significantly reduce embodied CO₂e by reducing the amount of concrete and steel their structures require, while remaining fully flexible for future demands.
Concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world, second only to water. Global development, infrastructure, logistics networks, data centers, and industrial facilities will continue to be built. The challenge is not whether to build, but how to meet these demands while materially reducing environmental impact.
Under Janis Oslejs leadership, Primekss has focused on engineering concrete behavior itself. By controlling shrinkage, cracking, and load distribution through steel-fiber-reinforced, self-stressing concrete technology, PrīmX® concrete technology enables thinner structural elements, eliminates conventional reinforcement meshes, and significantly reduces total material demand across floors and structural systems.

This reduction in concrete and steel directly lowers embodied CO₂e. At the same time, PrīmX® solutions are designed and built for performance-critical facilities that must support automation, heavy and dynamic loads, and future flexibility in how buildings are used. Floors and structures can be reconfigured, expanded, or repurposed over time without being limited by joints or fixed reinforcement layouts.
Decarbonization approaches such as lower-carbon binders and carbon capture play an important role. Primekss raises structural efficiency so these approaches can deliver greater overall impact when applied, helping make ambitious decarbonization goals achievable in real projects and at scale.
We are grateful to the Young Presidents’ Organization for this recognition. The award was received on behalf of Janis Oslejs by Juris Mucenieks, Primekss Chief Commercial Officer, who proudly represented the company.
This recognition underlines a harsh reality. If the construction and engineering sectors are serious about reducing CO₂e while continuing to build at scale, they must change how concrete is designed and used.
Primekss | PrīmX® Concrete Technology demonstrates how that change is made in practice.
