PrīmX Technology

PrīmX® Concrete Technology is a gamechanger compared to traditional concrete, delivering unmatched durability, efficiency and flexibility while improving safety and sustainability.

How do we create PrīmX?

“We believe in a systematic approach and continuous development to achieve perfection”

PrīmX technology makes it possible to control concrete drying shrinkage - the biggest drawback of the world's most widely used construction material. Uncontrolled shrinkage leads to inefficient designs, excessive material consumption, reduced service life, costly maintenance and unnecessary CO2 emissions.

PrīmX concrete uses chemically induced compressive self-stress to create a stronger material, a stiffer structural section and superior shrinkage control. High dosages of premium steel fibres restrain the controlled chemical expansion generated by proprietary admixtures. The fibres also provide flexural and shear reinforcement, allowing many structures to be built with little or no traditional reinforcement.

The result is a stronger, dimensionally stable concrete with significantly improved structural performance. It enables higher load-bearing capacity, reduced structural thickness, large jointless slabs, watertight and gas-tight structures, and many other engineering benefits.

Engineering the chemistry

“Controlling chemical expansion is critical.”

Because cement reactivity, aggregate properties, water absorption and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) vary from one region to another, there is no universal mix design. Every PrīmX project starts with an R&D programme using locally available materials from the nominated batching plant.

While our concrete engineers develop and validate a project-specific mix design, our in-house structural engineers simultaneously design the structure, taking into account material properties, structural behaviour, environmental conditions and construction methodology. By optimising both the material and the structural design together, we achieve maximum efficiency and predictable performance throughout construction and the entire service life of the structure.

The result is complete confidence for everyone involved in the project - developers, consulting engineers, general contractors and end users alike. PrīmX takes responsibility for the complete solution, including structural design, mix design, materials, on-site integration and workmanship. With a single engineering partner accountable for the entire system, design changes can be implemented quickly and efficiently, eliminating the coordination risks associated with multiple suppliers.

To ensure consistent quality anywhere in the world, PrīmX is delivered as a complete technological system built around four integrated pillars. Together, they enable predictable performance using locally available materials while maintaining the same engineering standards on every project.

This approach has been proven on more than 26 million m² of PrīmX floors, structures and pavements are in service across logistics facilities, manufacturing plants, data centres and other industrial buildings worldwide.
