Slab on Piles

Slab on Piles

PrīmXComposite Slab on Piles jointless system is the ideal flooring solution where structures are built on weak or damaged subsoil and piles are used as supports.

Traditionally, slabs on piles are built using heavy steel bar reinforcement, which means slow installation speed and high cost. This design also often suffers from cracking at the top of piles, as traditional concrete wants to shrink but is restrained by piles.

In contrast PrīmXComposite provides best flooring experience: weeks faster to install, virtually crack-free, jointless, and very rigid. This results in:

  • smooth and flat floors even under loading,

  • the lowest possible building and maintenance cost,

  • reduced damage to equipment,

  • the best labor productivity,

  • the best serviceability, and

  • greatest long-term value.

PrīmXComposite system is designed specially to meet most important criteria for industrial floors: floors that stay flat to ensure smooth traffic for equipment (forklifts and other MHE), no curling, tough and abrasion resistant to withstand the heavy machinery and/or foot traffic in long run. The floor must be easy to clean and have minimum maintenance costs and for Big box retailers and other facilities looking good, saving energy and light reflective floor in many cases is important.

PrīmXComposite Slabs On Piles eliminates the major drawback of traditional concrete system - concrete shrinkage - which causes cracking over pile heads in a traditional slabs on piles solution.

Concrete, used for traditional slabs on piles solutions, is strong under compression but brittle under tension and flexion. The core technology of PrīmXComposite features high amount of steel fiber reinforcement and special anti-cracking, anti-shrinkage additives, allowing to create ductile, seamless floors with unlimited jointless areas.

The absence of traditional reinforcement typically saves installation time. It is weeks faster in comparison to floors casted with a steel bar reinforced concrete.

Heavy steel fiber reinforcement and PrīmXComposite special material formula allows to build much thinner designs, whilst improving stiffness and load bearing capacities. Thinner slabs lead to overall material savings.

Reduced thickness causes reduced slab weight and therefore less load is transferred to piles. This allows for reduced number or necessary bearing capacity of the piles, resulting in designs with less amount of piles/larger distance between piles.

Due to shrinkage control system, PrīmXComposite allows us to ensure efficient gas and liquid tight solutions.

PrīmXComposite system ensures ECO friendly construction. As our designs are much thinner, less concrete is needed for construction leading to meaningful CO2 savings. PrīmXComposite reduces the average carbon footprint by 40%.
